![]() The new ones definitely have no odor, no ozone, and seem to be of higher quality materials. I have that plus a variable speed system and an APCO currently and my house is fresh af.Įdit: I’d like to add I was never a fan of the older RGF products, I couldnt stand the smell and they would notoriously fail right out of warranty. Now best overall(I’m a bit biased as this is what I sell and have in my home) would be Bryant/Carrier Evolution/Infinity air purifier which is a MERV 15 electronic air filter. The HALO has multiple technologies in it and is like the APCO and I-wave being installed. Similarly priced to the APCO-X but the LED cell only requires replacement every 5 years as opposed to 2 years on APCO. The best in duct one on the market at this time, IMO, is the RGF Halo LED. I’ve never used or installed an I-Wave but I did have a GPS2400 years ago installed at my house that is the same technology and I could never tell a difference in air quality. ![]() They are installed in your ducts and clean both the air and the surfaces in your home by proactively sending ionized oxidizers into the room to destroy the pollutants at the source. This is true for any filter/purifier but with PCO purification it takes longer IMO. The REME HALO and the REME HALO LED are whole-home air purification systems. The longer the run time the better the purifier will purify the air. I have installed many APCO/APCO-X and the only people who are ever really happy with them have variable speed systems. I’ve found the APCO and APCO-X work well with variable speed systems but not single stage unless you’re cool with running the indoor blower at all times.
